City of Chicago
Chicago is the third largest city in the United States with a population of 2.7 million people. It is full of many diverse neighborhoods with unique characteristics.
The Northern Suburbs
This affluent area is home to some of the nation’s top schools and shopping facilities. The northern suburbs are found near lake Michigan north of the city.
The Northwest Suburbs
Branching out northwest of the city past O’Hare International Airport., the northwest suburbs cover a very large amount of land and can vary in feel from borderline rural areas to modern suburban tract housing and malls.
The Western Suburbs
This area offers a lot of variety. Many of the western suburbs have their own unique culture that is tied to yet separate from the city of Chicago.
The South Suburbs
The Southern burbs are generally newer than the other suburbs of Chicago.
