Lakeview is a neighborhood on the North side of Chicago. Its East-West boundaries are defined by Lake Michigan and Ravenswood. Diversey Parkway marks the southern boundary and Irving Park caps the North.

Neighborhood Amenities
Lakeview is one of the most desirable North Chicago neighborhoods. In 2013 Money Magazine listed it among the top 10 big-city neighborhoods in Best Places to Live. It’s easy to see why. Living in Lakeview means being within walking distance to shopping, restaurants and entertainment. Lakeview includes several commercial districts with unique shops, boutiques, pubs and restaurants. Residents have quick access to night life. For outdoor activities a beach, dog beach, harbor, bird sanctuary and over two dozen parks are available.
Lakeview is pedestrian, bike and public transit friendly. Three El Lines (red, brown and purple) run within its boundaries. The El, city buses and cabs all provide quick access to downtown. Driving is often less convenient than these options. No expressways run through Lakeview. Street parking can be difficult, particularly around Wrigley Field and near shopping districts. So, considering parking options is important when buying a home in Lakeview. Most houses include a garage. Some areas issue resident parking permits.
Residents are highly educated. Around 70% of Lakeview residents have a college degree and about 25% have advanced degrees. The average income ranges from around $50,000 to $60,000 on the East side to the low $100,000’s on the West side.
